What is www.MADXJ.com? |
|
MADXJ is an informal group of individuals meeting on the internet to discuss XJs and MJs, as well as many related topics. Occasionally we meet for camping, wheeling, and wrenching events. Basically, it's a group of friends getting together. Responsibility lies with each individual. Common Sense rules. Keep it safe and fun, don't drink and drive, don't get too close to the vehicle in front of you, stay away from straps and winch cables. Keep a close eye on your dogs (if you bring them along) and make absolutely sure that your kids are safe at all times. Moving vehicles struggling over obstacles are often in awkward positions, making it very hard at times for the drivers to see what is around them. If you decide to come along on any event that is labeled a "MADXJ" event, you must understand that MADXJ is not a Club and you have to be responsible for yourself, your family or accompanying people. It is your responsibility to insure your vehicle as well as assure that it is street legal and safe. Seat belts are required, and all passengers are urged to use them at all times when the vehicle is being operated. All vehicles need a solid front and rear tow point to safely extract stuck vehicles. Most other equipment is deemed optional, but some is highly recommended: First Aid kit, Fire Extinguisher, fuel tank skid plate, decent tires, etc. Off-road driving is a controversial issue and all event participants are urged to act responsibly: no driving over vegetation if it is not necessary. No excessive "digging" if it can be avoided. Oil leaks should be dealt with in a professional manner, i.e. collect oil in a container. Any trash found along the trail should be picked up and collected in garbage bags for later disposal at official garbage collection points. |
