Lower Control Arm Mount Beefup

Here are the freshly welded brackets, which were ordered as stock replacements for the Jeep Comanche (MJ).
For some reason the engineers at Jeep decided these would be a good idea on the pickup truck, but not the station wagon.  As it turns out, this seems to be a worthwhile and easy form of preventative medicine for XJ owners.

I have heard of more than one instance of these stock brackets in the lower picture getting torn from the body as a result of fourwheeling.  I credit Paul Weitlaff for sharing the idea for this modification on his web page.

Cleaning the surface of the uniframe was essential for welding.  I have since followed up on this mod with some paint and a bit of left over "Herculiner" floor coating.
